Come visit House of Barks, an indoor dog daycare located in Hawthorn. Situated in a large heritage building (circa 1881) with soaring ceilings, climate control and flooded with natural light, this is one of the most beautiful dog daycares around.
We are a boutique dog daycare, meaning we have a small number of dogs in per day (about 4x less than other daycares) and low dog-to-handler ratios. This means that our dogs get lots of individual attention from handlers in a quieter environment.
We also offer premium in-home pet sitting services (your home or ours), with our well qualified carers.

Taking your dog to daycare will allow them to socialise with their own kind in a safe and comfortable environment designed with their needs in mind.
Our handlers will engage your dogs in stimulating enrichment activities, ensure they are socialising well together and reinforcing appropriate dog behaviour, as well as giving them a rest when they need some down time.
ABOUT US
As dog owners ourselves, we know first-hand that there is nothing more precious than the love and affection of a well cared for pup. We also know how hard it can be leaving them on their own and how much they enjoy their own kind! We therefore had a simple vision of establishing a dog daycare in our local area where dogs can be looked after and socialise with each other in a beautiful environment and where owners would have peace of mind their pet would be well looked after.
In-home dog sitting at your home or ours

DAYCARE FACILITIES
Dogs are shown into one of two main pens depending on their size and temperament, with pup safety prioritied first and pup enjoyment as a close second. This generally (though not always) corresponds to smaller dogs in one pen and larger dogs in the other. Here they socialise with each other and engage in enrichment activities under the constant supervision of our skilled handlers at all times.
We also provide rest spaces to ensure dogs have some rest and relaxation in addition to play throughout the day.

ENROLLING IN DAYCARE
Once you have registered and booked in, we will send you a welcome email prior to your booking with useful information about directions, what to expect and daycare etiquette. We will also attach a short questionnaire developed by one of Melbourne's preeminent dog training and behaviour consultants for you to fill out ahead of your first session. This is so that we can get to know your pup a bit more ahead of meeting them.
On the day itself we will also conduct a temperament assessment to further get acquainted with your pup and ensures we can cater for their individual needs so they have the best experience possible.
